I had to check my credit card online a couple of times in the first few days, and there was no further transaction from Budget - which of course would have alerted me and I would have then been able to deal with it on the spot. When asked about additional insurance, I said NO THANKS, I'M COVERED as I had bought travel insurance which provided everything I needed in terms of insurance and liability IN ADDITION to the insurance included in the rental.Īnd was directed to click through the screens and then initial a couple of places on a piece of paper which I didn't read (who ever reads those things) as I just wanted to get out of there and on the road, and had, after all TOLD the agent that I didn't want any additional insurance, AND showed him that I had paid for the rental in full INCLUDING insurance, AND as we had had a pleasant conversation about Florida, Ireland, travelling, no I didn't want a GPS, etc., during which I said several times to ALL of his offers that I DID NOT WANT ANYTHING, I of course trusted him to complete the transaction as instructed. Showed the agent my receipt from RentalCars, where it listed all the INCLUDED INSURANCE. When asked for my credit card, I asked WHY as I had also paid in full up front. Went to the desk to collect the car after a long day of travelling. Having done all my homework, as all good travellers do, I had decided all the car rental companies are probably much of a muchness with regards to the hard sell of extras at the desk, so had decided on Budget based on the price and past (albeit ancient) experience with them in the UK which was okay. Rented the car through, very straightforward, and got a good rate for a 2-week car rental. I have had a virtually identical experience with Budget at Tampa International Airport as this guy.
